Invitation to 2024 Annual General Meeting.

Our AGM for 2024 will be held at the St Austell Brewery Visitor Centre at 7.30 pm, Tuesday, 9th April.

We would very much welcome your attendance and to encourage this we are offering a free pint and pasty.

The agenda will consist of:

Chairman’s Report

Secretary’s Report (minutes of previous AGM).

Treasurer’s Report (including details of Accounts Audit)

Election of Officers – we will be taking nominations for the positions of:

Chairman

Vice Chairman

Secretary

Treasurer

Membership Secretary

General Committee (10 members)

Any Other Business

After the AGM it will be the last opportunity to attend the 5year H & S Induction this year. If you have not completed this Induction then we will be returning your membership money to you and you will no longer be a member of the Boat Club.

We hope to see you on the 9th April and look forward to having a pint and pasty together. A token will be issued upon entry, entitling the launching member only, to one free pasty and a pint.

As discussed at our AGM, we have now received delivery of a supply of lifejackets which we have purchased on behalf of our members.

In order for you to collect your life jacket, we will be at the Pilots Office on  Sunday 26^th May and Bank Holiday Monday 27^th May from 11:00am to 12noon. One Jacket will  be issued to each Full Launching Member on production of your membership card.  You will be asked to sign “A Lifejacket Disclaimer” which reads as follows: 

 DISCLAIMER:  The St Austell Bay Boat Club does not accept responsibility in the use of this Lifejacket, nor any liability for the upkeep and servicing of it. It  is your responsibility to ensure the care and maintenance of your Lifejacket and regularly check it’s in good working order. Your Lifejacket should be serviced annually or, after each inflation, whichever occurs first. This service can only be undertaken ,at a cost to you, by an approved Service Station.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the weekend.

If you were unable to collect your new Lifejacket during the bank holiday weekend then we will be at the Pilots Office this Saturday 1st June from 10am til 11am. Please bring your membership card with you.

Please bring membership card.

No further dates will be offered so please ensure you collect your jacket on one of the above dates.

There will be a meeting at St Austell Brewery Visitor Centre (Hicks Bar) at 7.30pm on Tuesday 8^th October 2024.

You will be able to collect and complete Membership Application Forms for renewing your membership for 2025.  This meeting is for existing members only that wish to renew their membership. Forms will be available to download from the website later this month or printed copies available at the meeting.

Payments are requested to be made by Bank Transfer please, Bank details are on the form, just remember to put your membership number in the reference box please or by cheque/cash.

We will be at the Pilots Office on the following dates to receive completed forms

Saturday 9^th November from 10 – 12 noon

Saturday 16^th November from 10 – 12 noon

Saturday 30^th November from 10 – 12 noon

The last date for Renewing your membership is Saturday 30^th November so please ensure we have your Form, Payment and Passport photo by this date.

The Membership Application form for 2025 is available to download from the link below. All application forms must be returned on or before 30^th November 2024 via on of the available meeting at the Pilots office. New members will be processed after 1st January 2025 subject to available spaces.

To all slipway and sluice pill users.

Imerys marine engineering contractors (TMS) will be on site from the 2nd June for approx. 6 weeks. They will be undertaking structural maintenance works along the North wall and also the sluice bridge area.

This work may impact sluice pill berths as movements in and out could be restricted and trailered boats maybe redirected via the roadway to the West of the sluice pill.

If you have any concerns or questions, please let me know and I will feed it back to Imerys for clarification.
